Eating Healthy Munchies!

colourful food!

I need to eat healthy. Actually, we all need to eat healthy. But healthy is a wee bit different for each person. Some of us are true carnivores, some herbivores and the rest of us are omnivores. I’m an omnivore. I love meat and veggies and synthetic food like Pringles. Damn, I shouldn’t have mentioned Pringles, I’ve should on myself and Pringles will now be my crave monster for the day. It’s a good thing I don’t have any in the house.

If you have popcorn and chips (And I’m not allowed to have chips, pretzels, cheezies etc…sigh!), they must be put into bowls. Bowls are far more dignified than eating out of the bag and you can control portions much easier. So, a veggie munchie bowl is good and healthy. I could have a fruit munchie bowl, too.

Granola bars are too fattening, most nut/cereal based snack mix is too high in carbs, fat and salt. I’m going to have to be careful. I can always shave off a couple of slices of salami and my carefully measured ounce of white cheddar cut into slices, too. These will go into the small green munchie bowl for when I can’t fight off the crave monster and need fat and salt. “No Carbs!”

So, I’ve got my healthy munchies and you can go look for what you will allow yourself, select a suitable “munchie bowl” and count the munchies into your daily allowance. But they will be guilt free and you can eat them when ever and were ever you want to.

Thanks for listening. ;D Diane
