Fat Flush Diet – Even Dr Oz Says It Works
I posted about the goodness of fruit yesterday and all day the pictures and recipe for the “Fat Flush” fruit water were popping up all over my Facebook.It was mentioned by Kim Lyons on the “Biggest Loser” and even Dr Oz has said this will work if you do it over 10 days. Click on the underlined part and it will take there. His ten-day plan does add a lot of really cool ways to make your day-to-day eating healthier like green carbs over brown carbs. Makes sense to me.
Personally I like the pictures. The recipe is so simple.
Fat Flush Water
Ingredients, per 1 pitcher
Water
1 sliced grapefruit
1 tangerine – sliced or just peel
½ cucumber, sliced
2 peppermint leaves
Ice
Directions
Wash the fruit first, cut it then combine ingredients in a large pitcher.
The grapefruit is loaded with vitamin C to help your body turn fat into fuel. The tangerine increases your sensitivity to insulin, stabilizes blood sugar, and stimulates genes to burn fat. Cucumber helps you feel full and acts as a natural diuretic, which means less bloating and water retention. And lastly, it has peppermint, which is not only refreshing but also promotes better digestion and stomach calm. Make a big pitcher of Fat Flush Water every morning. The longer it sits, the better it will taste. Drink at least one 8 ounce glass three times a day before each meal for 10 days straight. You can do it directly into your water bottles, too.
I like it. Try it and tell me how it works for you. I have to go now and plant some more mint. But I can’t help thinking what this would be like if I replaced the water with vodka?

would like to ask about the cucumber my system cant tolerate the it is make sick on my stomach is that important or can I leave it out
If makes you sick leave it out. I’m not qualified to tell you what would work as a substitute. Dr Oz or Kim Lyons. Do you tolerate watermelon? It is also a diuretic.
Could I add strawberries n lemons to it or would it effect the other ingredients?
I don’t think it will stop the other ingredients from working.

would frozen tangerines and grapefruits have the same effect?? I freeze a lot of my fruit,to have in hand when i need it.
Put them into the water frozen, that way nothing is left out. Freezing can destroy some of the cells of the fruit but the juice will stay in the water! I believe there is very little loss of nutrients. But, saying that, fresh is usually better.

How many times do you fill tha pitcher with the same fruit? When do you switch the fruit?
You can keep the fruit in the pitcher for 3 days filling it each time you drain it. More than that and it gets very tired. But if you have a 1 quart pitcher and you’re drinking that every day – that’s your 8 glasses!
If you fill it up you can keep re-filling it with water for three days if you refrigerate it. It depends how big your pitcher is. If you are using a water bottle and it’s not refrigerated just keep put in your fruit and refill with water for the day then throw out the fruit and wash the bottle that night.
Nce diet
It’s only one small part of a diet. Sigh!!!!

Not more than when i was drinking my usual 8 glasses a day.

Can you leave out grapefruit ?
I would never leave out grapefruit especially a ruby red one! But you can. It may change the type of chemical reaction in your body though.
can we drink it with food or before we eat anything??.
I have had it alone in the morning, with meals, during the day and even in the evening. I personally think at least 8oz before a meal works to keep my appetite in check. Enjoy!

Hey can you eat the ingredients after you have drink the water or just throw them away ?
Yes, but they don’t have much taste after a day and they are very waterlogged.
How would you make it into water bottles to bring on-the-go, or to work?
You would have to use the wider mouth bottles and fill half way with fruit and just keep filling it with water as you drink it. I use a bottle that fits ice cubes and the fruit fits well.
