The HAPIFork – Well, Fork You, too!

Guess what? There’s a new tool in the calorie-fighting arsenal. The HAPI-Fork! Yes, a fork has been invented to help you eat! Isn’t that what forks are supposed to do? But According to HAPI Labs the HAPIFork:

Eating too fast, and not chewing long enough leads to poor digestion and poor weight control.

The HAPIfork is an electronic fork that monitors your eating habits. The HAPIfork gives you precise information about your eating schedule. The HAPIfork alerts you with the help of indicator lights when you are eating too fast.

Every time you bring food from your plate to your mouth
with your fork, this action is called:
a “fork serving”.

The HAPIfork also measures:
     • How long it took to eat your meal.
     • The amount of “fork servings” taken per minute.
     • Intervals between “fork servings”.

HAPI Stuff

Then you can connect it to your smart phone, your computer or tablet. And its software will help you change your eating habits and stay on track. These wonderful people will also be releasing the HAPITrack – a complicated pedometer. But good for you – right? It’s not enough that the government wants to track everything I do now my fork will do it, too.

I guess all the new gadgets, programs and trends help you re-boot your own ass periodically. Does this mean I can’t use my chopsticks? …or my soup spoon? …or my hands? I guess they will eventually create a whole set of electronic cutlery and eventually equip them with little “smart” sensors so they can see what food I’m eating, weigh it and work out my calories, carb, fat intake and add and/or subtract it from my recommended daily allowance. Hell, my husband can do that for me!!!!! And I bet he costs less, too.

Oh well, I’m going to measure my yogurt, weigh my strawberries, count my spoonfuls (teaspoon, not tablespoon), evaluate my nutritional count and record it all on my cyber-journal. Sigh, I hope my brain is losing weight, too. And irony of all this gear is that my pedometer needs a new battery. REALLY BIG SIGH!

Thanks for listening. ;D Diane

We all get heavier as we get older,
because there’s a lot more information in our heads.

That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
