Fleetwood Mac vs Big Mac

I want to go see Fleetwood Mac when they come to Vancouver in May. Pre-sales are today. It came up at work and some of the people I work with got really excited. So, to make a long story short, my boss, who has an American Express card so she can go to “Front of the Line” for tickets will be buying tickets for 7 of of to go!  We’ll all pay her back and it will be so cool to see a band I loved back in the day and still really like. The seats will be in the higher section of the arena because the rest are all over $200.00 a seat and I don’t like them that much! I’ll bring Norm and we all make a big party of all of it!

My two favourite songs are Rhiannon and Tusk. Everyone loves Rhiannon, and Tusk is is killer driving song.  I had Farah Fawcett hair briefly in the ’70’s and it was more because of Stevie Nicks than Farrah Fawcett. It was a lot of upkeep and that was BC – before children. Now our children are going to concerts with us! Sigh.

After all the talk of Fleetwood Mac I was waxing all nostalgic for the days before children. Don’t get me wrong, I love my girls and they are the best thing that has ever come into my life. I was just remembering all the things we did before children. The girls have moved out so theoretically we can do all those things again but it’s just not the same, is it? I think I would look funny in a long denim jumper and Earth shoes. Hmmm maybe it was the Earth shoes that wrecked my hips, I wonder if I can sue?? I wore two colours of eyeliner at a time and green mascara. I had a Guatemala shoulder bag for freak’s sake! And I ate Big Macs.

I would not be caught dead eating a Big Mac now. Well, actually, that may be the only way I would be caught eating one – dead. Do you know how many calories there are in a Big Mac? 540! Click on the highlighted Big Mac and it’ll link you to the nutritional info on the Big Mac. I was just reading it all (1020mg of sodium!) and I swear that both my blood sugar and blood pressure spiked! Maybe I can sue McDonalds, too?

Fast food from the past along with really good music from the past.  I see that vinyl records are back and everyone who knows anything cool, is buying turntables for there IPod docking stations. Of course they all come with a code so you can digitally download the album, too. I’ve got my originals records and Fleetwood Mac came in vinyl. I personally didn’t wear vinyl but we did have the massive speakers that you could actually hide a child in. OK, I’m done with reminiscing except I really want a burger. I may have to make some for supper  – breadless for me but grilled beef sounds good.

Thanks for listening. ;D Diane
