Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda!

Yep, it’s one of those grey fall days when I reflect on the might-have-beens. This is also called, nostalgia. Please forgive the euphemisms instead of proper contractions but it is more fun. And I’m all about fun. Right? If I knew then what I know now…

I shoulda:

  • thought of the future
  • listened to my..mother, doctor, teachers etc.
  • stayed on my diet
  • gone to bed earlier

I coulda:

  • taken something else in university
  • stayed in the north
  • filled my “life” list
  • been thinner, healthier, richer etc.

I woulda:

  • studied yoga, meditation and mindfulness
  • thought more
  • written more
  • been different

Wow! I liked this exercise. I can work out my mind as well as my muscles. I didn’t want to be too hard on myself because I actually like who and where I am right now. I only put four things down in each category for ow. I can (notice I didn’t say “could”) still do a lot of the things I was brainstorming about. It truly raised a lot of questions about what did or will stop me. Only I know that.  I love that little bit of anxiety that comes over me before trying something new.  I cherish the fear. Fear of what, you ask? Failure, success, the unknown…myself? Oooo, I really like this. I’m beginning to feel inspired to do good things – for myself and my future.

I can!

I will!

I shall!
