Born in a Hurricane!

Maybe this is why I like spirals so much.
Metaphors for life!

Well my funk went away and thanks to all of you who helped dissipate the miasma that temporarily enveloped me yesterday! I counted you all in my blessings and I gave/give thanks for you everyday! (I’m trying to reload my vocabulary and use it for good and not evil.)

Quite a few years ago Hurricane Hazel descended on southern Ontario and my Mom, away from her home and family to be with my Dad, went into labour. I was born on October 12 at 2 am in Hamilton, Ontario. Yep, Like the Rolling Stones said, “I born in a cross-fire hurricane…its a gas!” The rest of the lyrics don’t really hold true but I like the opener.

So, now what? Isn’t your birthday another one of those times that you take stock and make sure you are on the right track…or on some kind of track? Well, once again, I am taking care to evaluate my actions and direction. Tee hee hee. Do any of us want to grow up and take responsibility for our choices and actions? Kind of, but I do. There are lots of things we have no choice in but I’ve been looking for the silver lining in all the clouds. I’ve been able to do all kinds of things I would not have even considered when I was 17. I have a husband (I’ll never get married). I have two amazing and¬†beautiful daughters (Why would I want to bring a child into a world like this?). I have a wonderful job (No way I would want to be a teacher!). And so many unbelievably wonderful friends (Yeah, I’ll only be here a couple of years, don’t get too close).

Time has taught me to cherish every minute and do what I truly want to do. What’s the worst thing that could happen? If I figure out what those things are, I can make the right decisions. And even when there’s no help in Home Outfitters, maybe you’ll get the right stool for a birthday present!

Well enough of this. Thanks for listening. ;D Diane
