Deep Blue Funk

This is actually what came up on Google for Blue Funk!

All of a sudden I am overwhelmed by a deep blue funk. OK, maybe just whelmed but I’m not sure. Maybe it’s because the summer is really over and I had to wear closed-toe shoes for the first time in months and can’t see my sparkly blue toenails. It might be because the sunshine ate by that foggy misty stuff. Could it be because of the sudden drop in temperature? It is October and the 1st turkey eaten. Maybe the changing of the leaves on all the deciduous trees is doing it to me. Could it be because all the hibiscus flowers are falling off, too?

Deep Blue Funk Cocktail
Recipe features Domaine de Canton Ginger Liqueur, Malibu Rum, light rum, blue Curacao, pineapple juice and fresh lime juice.

I’ll blame barometric pressure change, low blood sugar, and bad customer service at Home Outfitters! Yeah, that helped.

Did you know that the word “funk” originally meant a bad smell. I do have a bad smell in my mind. I want to eat, stomp my feet and throw things. But as I write I’ve got a YouTube version of Funky Town on and I can’t sit still. Oh, NO! Another exercise program, this one for aerobics and mental purging. It’s actually funny to watch to watch. Easy to follow dance routine and some of the outfits are coming right back into style. If I dig deep into my costume trunk I may have some. OK, now I’m laughing at the “special effects”. This came out in 1979.

I just figured it out. Tomorrow is my birthday and I’m aging whether I like it or not. I know growing old is inevitable but growing up is optional. Actually I like having the experience I do, but getting “elderly” scares the crap out of me. How will I survive when I have to retire? Ah. yep, that was definitely one of the causes of the funk. But I still haven’t figured out why blue is in there. Do you Know? I’ll look it but I know I won’t be satisfied.  I’ll take option “B”.

Well I’ve made myself feel better by talking it, and playing Funky Town. Now. I’ll go count my blessings not calories. Thanks for listening. ;D Diane
