Homeward Bound

I love double entendres. We are bound (going on a journey) for home and I am bound (tied) to my home.

Today we head home after visiting friends in Hope and Calgary. Yesterday we reached Osoyoos and it was glorious. The lake is beautiful and the Sandy Beach Motel, which we stayed at, is completely new and gorgeous. And because it’s late September  – no children running around. It was a relaxing and peaceful evening after a sun-soaked after noon on the beach. Yes, the diet was broken with pizza and wine but it was nice. I like nice.

I guess going home is like starting a new phase. Sure I’m going home to all that is familiar and comfortable. I’m going home to my kids. I’m going home to routines and expectations. It’s a good thing, right? I’m feeling much better even though my leg hurt after the walking on the sand. I used my cane but sand makes muscles work that are still newish. I was definitely stiff this morning. I’ll take it easy and do a bit of the driving today.

It’s been a nice break from being locked in my house (OK, I wasn’t really LOCKED in the house) for the last few months. I now know why I still have more physio to do and that it will help me get back to work all the faster. It has given me a chance to appreciate all my friends. Thank you, Karla, Rick and Lynn for putting up with us and putting us up. And to value my children. Thanks, Shauna, for picking up the Pumpkin Beer for me while I was away. And to miss my students and co-workers. I’m a fortunate person who has to get weighed next Tuesday so see how good I was on the trip. Tee hee hee!

Well, enough for today and I’ll be more diet/weight-loss friendly tomorrow. Thanks for listening. ;D Diane
