Weekend Guilt Puppy

I feel like this puppy is staring right at me and the guilt is rolling right through me. Yes, I went off my diet on Friday. I wasn’t too, too bad but I am feeling guilty. And Satyrday (yes, intentional) added a couple of things that aren’t strictly forbidden on the “No White Food Diet”. But they were very flavourful and delightfully mood enhancing. There’s no “over”indulgence just indulgence.

It’s Sunday morning and I am, for all intent and purpose, back to the diet. I read somewhere that, if you fall off the diet wagon, you shouldn’t (Their word not mine, whoever “they” are.) wait for a specific time to start or restart your diet but do it right away. Allow yourself that “treat” also known as a binge and go right back on your diet. Stuff the guilt (Ha! YOU stuff the guilt!) and just carry on as if you were still adhering to your meal plan.

It sounds so easy doesn’t it? But after sharing a drink (or 2 or 3) with a visiting brother-in-law and husband, it’s hard not to indulge in potato salad, pasta salad, popcorn (with butter) and cream in my blenderized-alcohol-enhanced iced coffee frappacino. (I hit a high note here!) Sigh, all was good and I’m a cherries and yogurt girl this morning.

So, why do I still have that guilt puppy staring at me? It is my lot in life to live with the Crave Morsels calling, the Crave Monster wanting to get out/in, and a whole litter of guilt puppies. I can and will do this. I will indulge once in while but I will always snap back to my path. So, it will be a No White Food day today. I have some gloriously fresh green beans, baby turnips, and slim carrots to go with a very lean pork loin roast. This will be a wonderful Sunday dinner and the guilt puppies won’t even whimper.

  2. Thanks for asking!
    No bad “processed” Carbs!!!!! No flour, pasta, potatoes, rice, cereal, bread, the white fat on meat. You can have all the veggies and fruit you want. And…lots of meat! You shouldn’t (and I apologize for “shoulding” on you) have anything made with those things either. Yogurt is great but watch out for sugar and honey in it.   5. Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
    There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
    She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell someone!
