Am I Worth It?

I was feeling kind of worthless yesterday evening so I looked up a few things. There are many valuations of what the human body is worth. So what am I worth?

If we look at the “elements” my body is made up of and what they are worth and compare that to the prices on the market for  those elements, and because I’m the “Economy Size” we can figure it out approximately.

  • 65% Oxygen
  • 18% Carbon
  • 10% Hydrogen
  • 3% Nitrogen
  • 1.5% Calcium
  • 1% Phosphorous
  • 0.35% Potassium
  • 0.25% Sulfur
  • 0.15% Sodium
  • 0.15% Chlorine
  • 0.05% Magnesium
  • 0.0004% Iron
  • 0.00004% Iodine
My body also contains trace amounts of other elements, such as silicon, manganese, fluorine, copper, zinc, arsenic, aluminum, gold and uranium. What is the going rate for a body’s worth of these elements? I’m told it works out to about $5.00 that’s $4.98 American at today’s rate. But the skin  its self is worth about $.25 a square foot, so I might be able to get another $4.00 for that, untanned. I also know (and you may want invest in it) that the price of potassium is going up over the moon! So make sure you buy property in Saskatchewan, it may just  have a vein of potassium under it.!!! Or eat lots of bananas.

Remember to donate!
Live on!

Then there’s the other markets. How much are my individual parts worth? of course I am bionic so some parts are actually better than the originals and even re-cycled I could probably get a few thousand for them. I may be too old to sell my eggs but the DNA is kind of good. My blood is good. Kidneys, heart, lungs, liver? $50,00 to $100,00 each I’m told. Hmmmm. Brain is useless except for research and mine isn’t different enough for people to buy. So I may be worth up to $45,000,000.00. Personally my expiration date isn’t printed on the package but I’m still good and even though not all my parts are original. I’m doing OK. And I’ve already donated bone but I did that for free.
So, now that my feelings of self-worth and value as a human have increased, I will have a very good day. I hope you do too. Remember to sign your organ donor card and go out and give blood if you can. Blood is a renewable resource and YOU can save a life. In fact, one donation can save “lives”. Oh yeah, keep on your healthy eating plan and get your exercise! It isn’t about what your worth because you are priceless, me, too!
Thanks for listening. ;D Diane
