Planning A New Plan

How do the “Up People” stay up? I had a horrible week and I was on a down slide or a downward spiral but this blog helped me put it in perspective. There is one thing going up – my weight! But after reading the amazingly simple “I Need To Take My Own Advice” by Winnie1978 I realized (again) that I need to take MY own advice. It truly resonated with me. Click on the link and you’ll just keep nodding your head! It seems to take so long to get up to the “good place” but it is worth it. It’s all simple things I was/am ignoring and just because I can’t exercise the way I used to it doesn’t give me the excuse to eat everything in sight. So I won’t

I don’t have a surgery date. It could be tomorrow or two months. I have to remember there are people worse off than I am. But last night my leg unseated twice while I was sleeping so I had to wake up and put it back in the socket before I could really move. Sigh. I am going to feel sorry for myself but I also feel good (counting the blessings) and I have much gratitude, too. I am thankful for eggs, coffee, Norm and my girls, the huge, blooming cherry tree outside my kitchen window. I am thankful I can make myself do things. I want to believe, I DO believe  that my new plan starts now. I will be the sprout reaching ever upward with the energy and drive to become a tree.  Yeah, I’ll be a tree. It’s a metaphor for growth and taking all the time you need to reach where you need to be. There are so many kinds of trees and they all look different according to their roots and growing conditions. Do you think sprouts have a plan to be full grown trees? Or carrots? Or alfalfa? So…I will:
– Start right now (now and not after the toast and jam)
– Keep my journal (and do not lie or fudge it)
– Do the exercises I can (there are a lot of upper body things I can do including aerobic stuff)
– Not should on myself!
– Follow the nutrition plan (after all, I will get to eat 6 times a day!)
– Drink lots of water  (when I’m supposed to – that means not mixed with Jameson’s as a bedtime snack)
– Keep my brain and hands busy (blogging, crocheting and thinking – the hardest)
– Give thanks!
