What Scares You?

“The scariest moment is always just before you start.”— Stephen King

Damn good quote, isn’t it!  It can refer to almost anything. It’s Sunday morning and the fog has rolled into our valley. (Literally and metaphorically.) The wintering-over hummingbirds have been and gone from the feeder and the Stellar Jays are yelling at Norm to put more sunflower seeds out. I’m so full of coffee it doesn’t taste great anymore.  So, why am I still sitting here?

Rock my world!

I think I’m afraid to commit to something today.  What if it rains? What if there are monsters in the mist? I could bake but then I’ll have some crave morsels to fight for days!!! I crocheted two towels during the hockey game last night so my craft urge is done with for now. I’ve run out of lives in Bubble Witch Saga and could move on to Round Two in the Texas Hold-em Tournament but that doesn’t inspire me either. So, here I am blathering about a nothingness stream of consciousness.

Well, I could start my income tax stuff…do laundry…dust…finish my filing in the “computer room”. I am very tempted to just move my ample and bounteous bum into the living room and watch some Perry Mason episodes I have PVR’d (terrible verb but now it exists). No, I’ll get changed, start the laundry, figure out what I need for supper when the kids come over. I’ll work on my monthly report for work.

I can do some stretching and plan a little walk, too. (Notice I didn’t should!!!!) OK, my fear is gone and the  “do” is here and it’s still relatively early!  Now that wasn’t so scary, was it?  Thanks for listening. ;D Diane

  1. Wow. Powerful and applicable quote. My big project starts tomorrow, and I am terrified.

  2. Love this! It totally applies to what I’m going through right now.
