Limited Edition

My Eclipse

I found out this past week that Mitsubishi has stopped making my model of car.  I have a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse in the most amazing colour – Sunset Pearlescent! Sigh – I have just designated it a limited edition – just like me!

Every one of us is a limited edition.  Some are us are produced in higher numbers than others but each is unique.  Neither I nor my car has a stamped number on us saying we are #456 of 500 produced in either 1954 0r 2007. But there will never be another one like me. Yes, there are probably a few people out the heaving a sigh of relief over that one.

Do you remember having a “dream car” when you were a kid?  I had two vehicles in my dreams when I was 12.  One was a ’66 Plymouth Barracuda like my Nana’s and the other was a Harley Davidson Electra-glide.  I actually had a picture of the Harley on my bedroom wall beside the Jim Morrison black and white poster that I had coloured the eyes blue on.

Believe it or not, my family did not have a car.  Neither of my parents drove until after I was married.  But that is another story. I really like the Barracuda because of that huge back window.  So, when I got my first full time job and our family needed another car, I looked for one.  I found it.  A 1966 Plymouth Barracuda with an 8 cylinder 273 Commando motor.  I bought it!!!  It was lemon yellow and had terrible tires (down to the cord from peeling out), no power steering etc.  I loved it and we got it road worthy.

I still own it but it’s Norm’s hobby, now, but I did have it done in Cayman Green (it shows off the chrome). It is unique and turns heads.  I’m sure that’s why Norm likes it so much. I actually think we’ve made money on it.  Well, that’s if you don’t count the repairs and paint and stuff over the years and still needs – well – everything.

I like being unique.  I like having a car, no, make that two cars, that are unique.  I own an Eclipse and a Barracuda.  Wow!  Even the names suit me fine.  I don’t mind being a limited edition.  My cars are!  In fact, the ‘Cuda is “Vintage”.  Wow, that can be my next designation.

Thanks for reading. ;D

  2. I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own blog and was wondering what all is needed to get set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very web savvy so I’m not 100% sure. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Kudos

    • This didn’t cost me a thing. I just followed the prompts at They have all the formats etc. Keep your blogs realtivly short and write for your audience, especially if it’s you! Good luck and let me know how it goes. By the way. How did you find my blog?
