More Fibre!

In my post of October 23rd, I mentioned the “fibre of my being”.  Wow, that sounds profound. So what is the fibre of our being? What is the fibre of my being?  And..do we need more fibre?

I like a good metaphor as much as the next English teacher.  I know in the dietary and nutritional sense, fibre is good for us and keeps our digestive tracks working well.  It keeps us regular. It keeps crap from hanging around too long.  I definitely do not need crap hanging around too long.

Fibre makes things strong.  Fibre makes fabric (check out the word origin!!!!), material (Oh my goodness, so many synonyms and so little time…), paper, boxes, ropes, yarn and so many things around us.  The fibre of my being is kind of squishy right now and they seem to be short fibres but they are twisted together in such a way that I am holding together rather well.

Fibreboard, fiberglass, fiberoptics, all-natural fibre, water soluble fibre, there’s even fibre cement siding.  There are things such as fibre art, fibre lighting, fibre foods and diets.  Think about it for a minute, yes, 60 seconds.  Pull apart a thread and reflect on how amazing it is.  Tiny fibres twisted in such a way that they can hold our clothes and lives together (here comes the metaphor again).

I believe the fibre of my being is an amazing and ever-changing combination of man-made (woman made?) and natural fibres from the past, the present and will endure into the future.  I really like the idea of fibre-optics.  Besides bringing me such wonderful HD experiences as Judge Judy in 52″ glory ; they carry tiny points of light to illuminate the future!

I am a fabric blend.  I am a bit silk, linen, polyester, wool, Lycra/Spandex (teeheehee – just picture that one), wood, sisal, bran and definitely celery!  I am going to have fun and make sure the crap keeps moving.  My fibre will move the crap along from my system and take all the impurities with it and I will NOT wave goodbye as it flushes!!!!!
