Flaming Red Tree

A friend of mine (Facebook and real) made a comment about how horrible customer service people must be and they must be chosen for their jobs because of it. Then she said “But I’m not going to think about that.  I’m going to think about tall, beautiful trees.”

What a wonderful sentiment!

Then her mother commented, “A flaming red tree!”  My friend does have a temper and she does have red hair.  But it’s autumn and the countryside is full of beautiful, flaming trees.

We seem to deny our anger or at least divert it.  It doesn’t usually get a lot accomplished.  It may get us attention but…Oh the pure energy of it.  I love my anger.  I want to embrace it and let it flow!  And it would flow…like lava.  It would be hot and glowing and setting fire to everything in its path. It could be destructive or transforming or even creative such as the lava which creates now islands!

My anger makes me short-fused, sarcastic and sometimes whiny and manipulative.  I do truly hate when people tell me, “Oh, don’t feel angry (or mad, or sad or evil…)!  I’m going to feel it.  I will embrace it.

I will be a Flaming Red Tree!
